We grew up down the road from prison,
my brother and I, and Prison stayed with us. He
got an iron lung: life sentence,
But time off
For good behavior. Me,
I just got Life, stepping on my own dick in perpetuity
Tripping over it to pick up
the nickel I give away

convict cantoring,
