WE HAVE UPDATED OUR SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES AS OF JULY 2008! PLEASE REVIEW THE CHANGES AND CLARIFICATIONS.
We cannot afford to pay you with cash, but we will honor you with glory, and if you come to Ann Arbor or San Francisco, to see the corporate office, we shall purchase you one (1) beer of our choice. Also, if you have five pieces published with us and have not retrieved a beer, you can exchange those promised beers for one super t-shirt.
As little as a few weeks (in the case of Rants, of which we receive fewer), to as many as 6 months (generally on longer submissions, because they are long, or Poems, which occasionally become quite numerous).
Poor Mojo's Almanac(k) holds three annual writing contests, the "$33-and-a-⅓ Meritorious Boons." These occur in series, have no entry fee, and pay out in cold, hard cash. In other words, there is a contest occurring right now and you can enter it. Learn more about our current 33-and-a-⅓ Contest
Authors retain their copyright on all works published on Poor Mojo's Almanac(k). By submitting a piece to Poor Mojo's Almanac(k) you agree that, should the piece be accepted, you grant Poor Mojo's Almanac(k) a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right and license to digitally archive and display the piece (aka Digital Archive Rights.) In the case that we later desire to include your work in any other format (e.g. print, audio, etc.), those rights will be separately negotiated at that time.
