Poetry #359
(published December 6, 2007)
Lost in the Wonderful World of Delusion . . .
by Bryon D. Howell
My plan was
simple.

Every time one of my
cat poems
was accepted for publication,
I would open up
a new can of food —
and serve it to my cat,
as a small token of
thanks —

for the inspiration.I ended up
saving
quite a bit of money
in the process.

It cost me
roughly five cents
for the plastic bag

I put her in —

just before sending the

lying bitch —

down the garbage chute.
