When My Friends Come Around
(a song)
by Matt Schneider

When my friends come around
I get all worked up just thinking about what used to be
And what we had to do to make the road run true
My friends don't come around, come around that often anymore

When my friends come around
I crawl out of my cage and act like nothing new
But what they cannot see, I ate myself in misery
My friends don't come around that often anymore

When my friends come around
My head spills out and trips a dance all of its own
And lies about its ways, and scares my friends away
My friends don't come around, come around that often anymore

When my friends come around
We dance with monkeys and with something from the hall
And think it's all OK, there's nothing left to say
But my friends don't come around, don't come round that often anymore

When my friends come around
I wish I had a funny magic trick to pull
Like trying to split a hare, or living with despair
But my friends don't come around, come around that often anymore

When my friends come around
I get all worked up just thinking about what used to be
And what we had to do, to make the road run true
But my friends don't come around, come around that often anymore
