Poetry #76
(published Early, 2002)
Touch
by Sarah Erdreich

thin hand resting on skin
molded to curve
of back flowing to hip
pale legs entwined
against faded red blanket

i stretch
arch my back so your hand
slides downward
my leg flexes against yours
toe presses into
the bridge of your foot

later
dust dancing in late-morning light
our ankles bear red spots
where the bones kissed
all night and morning long
