This is a new HBO documentary by (I believe) Nancy Pelosi's daughter. It chronicles conservative opinions in small town America before and after Obama's election victory. It's worth watching, if only to remind yourself of what other parts of America are like.
Watching it, I'm struck by how everyone assumes their opinions are obviously right. I'm struck by the petty joy one redneck gets in saying the word "nigger" to the interviewer. And I'm struck by how fearful these people are.
Compare and contrast this with the Virg Benero video from Thursday.
Seriously, jump ahead to about 2:45 and watch this woman dissect the "gay agenda" and tell me it doesn't remind you of that scene in Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas where the cops are being lectured about drug addicts and T-Shades.
In any event, kudos to that TV station for doing the right thing.
