Trailer: Mass Effect 3 "Take Back the Earth"
A beautiful trailer featuring no actual gameplay. But still. Those sunflowers look amaaaaazing.
Mass Effect 3 is the final installment in Shepherd's story, but not the final Mass Effect game. They love this universe too much and have put far too much effort into the stories of all the disparate races to let go now. Also, it prints money. So there's that.
The story across the three volumes is pretty much Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, except with aliens. And instead of fighting a horde of bandits you are up against world-devouring space squids and their zombie minions. It's more complicated than it sounds. Trust me.
The storytelling is nuanced and complex. Your actions and choices matter. And I know I've said this before, but Jennifer Hale's work as the voice of Commander Shepherd is the absolute pinnacle of acting. Period. In twenty years when they start giving Oscars for voicework and motion-capture work in games, they will look back and give her one of those lifetime achievement awards.
Yes, I may have a bit of a crush. It's deserved.
