Pope Benedict's Advisor On Pedophilia Scandal Arrested For Pedophilia

Joe. My. God.: Pope Benedict's Advisor On Pedophilia Scandal Arrested For Pedophilia
The latest sex-abuse case to rock the Catholic Church is unfolding in the archdiocese of an influential Italian Cardinal who has been working with Pope Benedict XVI on reforms to respond to prior scandals of pedophile priests. Father Riccardo Seppia, a 51-year-old parish priest in the village of Sastri Ponente, near Genoa, was arrested last Friday, May 13, on pedophilia and drug charges. Investigators say that in tapped mobile-phone conversations, Seppia asked a Moroccan drug dealer to arrange sexual encounters with young and vulnerable boys. "I do not want 16-year-old boys but younger. Fourteen-year-olds are O.K. Look for needy boys who have family issues," he allegedly said. Genoa Archbishop Angelo Bagnasco, who is the head of the Italian Bishops Conference, had been working with Benedict to establish a tough new worldwide policy, released this week, on how bishops should handle accusations of priestly sex abuse.

Rapture-peddling preacher revises date from May 21st to October 21st, asks for millions more in donations

He had nothing to say about people who quit their jobs pre-Rapture or who, y'know, tried to murder their children because he convinced them the world was ending. The guy made tens of millions off this scam. And he will keep making that money until people stop listening to him. Also, I just found out he lives only a few miles from me, in a humble little bungalow in Alameda. Follow Up of the Day: Harold Camping Revises Rapture Date [UPDATED] - The Daily What
Commenting for the first time on his ostensibly incorrect Rapture start date, Family Radio co-founder Harold Camping said May 21 did actually herald the beginning of the End, but the reason you may have missed it is because it was “an invisible judgment day.” Apparently, humanity will not endure five months of fire and brimstone — instead, Earth will simply meet its unceremonious end on October 21. The multimillionaire minister, who had been wrong at least once before, answered questions concerning the lack of Rapture on his radio show, “Open Forum.” Camping said he will speak no further to his revised prediction and would grant no additional interviews. Neither will any money be spent to promote the new Doomsday date. “The world has been warned,” he said. “We don’t have to talk about this anymore.” Asked if he plans to unload any of his Earthly possessions ahead of October 21, Camping responded “I still have to live in a house, I still have to drive a car. What would be the value of that? If it is Judgment Day why would I give it away?”

Two years ago, three teenagers' lives changed dramatically, a New York Times article explains. Their mother, Abby Haddad Carson, and her husband, Robert Carson, started going on missions spreading their belief that the world would end on May 21st, 2011. Abby Haddad Carson quit her job and stopped putting away any money for college for her three children. The Haddad kids have had a tough time dealing with their mother's new found mission. Grace Haddad, the 16-year-old, told the Times: “My mom has told me directly that I’m not going to get into heaven. At first it was really upsetting, but it’s what she honestly believes.” Joseph Haddad, 14 years old, finds his mother's actions embarrassing. He is worried there will be no money for him to attend college, and says he has kept his friends as far away from his mother as possible, because he doesn't want them to think he is like her.
