American Family Association: The First Amendment Only Applies To Christians

Watch for this bullshit to gain a lot of momentum. Joe. My. God.: American Family Association: The First Amendment Only Applies To Christians
"The First Amendment was written neither to guarantee freedom of religion to Muslims or Buddhists or Hindus nor to prohibit their free exercise of religion. It wasn’t written about them one way or another. It was written for one specific purpose: to protect the free exercise of the Christian religion. We must be clear: the First Amendment does not prohibit the free exercise of alternative religions, but neither does it guarantee it. It simply does not address the issue at all." - American Family Association spokesman and national radio host Bryan Fischer.

The Catholic church is aggressively lobbying to make it harder for child sex crime victims to bring charges

At one point, the Catholic Church did good things, yeah? NY Catholics Prioritized Child Rape Over Fighting Marriage Equality | ThinkProgress
Though the New York State Catholic Conference was one of the chief opponents of marriage equality passing, financial records show that fighting same-sex marriage was not the conference’s primary lobbying expenditure. Instead, they spent significant funds lobbying against legislation that would give child sex crime victims longer statutes of time to bring lawsuits or criminal charges.

Popular Texas preacher claims Japan's bad economy is due to Emperor sleeping with sun demons, literally

This is C. Peter Wagner, a powerful backer of Texas governor (and presidential candidate) Rick Perry. He also is a faith healer and claims that Catholic Saints are demonic. Joe. My. God.: PERRY BACKER: Japan Is Cursed Because The Emporer Had Sex With A Demon

Fast Food Evangelism

This is Penn Jillette's pay-the-toll-of-the-guy-behind-you with an added dose of forcing people who are being paid to serve you to accept religious dogma. Classy. Apparently this woman's schtick to is to drive around and evangelize by hassling service workers. She has more videos. Joe. My. God.: Fast Food Evangelism

The Atheist Experience: The cost of faith

Have I linked to this show before? I can't recall. I've certainly meant to. It's a call-in show in Austin, Texas featuring Matt Dillahunty (the bald guy) and a revolving series of co-hosts discussing atheism and religion. Matt (the bald guy) was a Christian for most of his life and brings a wealth of knowledge to his discussions. He is also combative and at times cannot resist just cold smoking some folks. The callers--from the few shows I've listened to--break down into three categories: Atheists calling to discuss their lives (boring); Christians who think they have a gotcha proof or some logical judo that will knock Matt on his ass (also boring, as the arguments are often warmed-over and silly); and Christians who are having genuine crises of faith and want to talk it over with someone who isn't going to judge them merely for questioning doctrine (these are the awesome calls.) Often a type 2 caller (logic judo guy) will end up being a type 3 caller. The Atheist Experience: The Cost of Faith

Jeruslame Rabbis condemn dog-possessed-by-ghost-lawyer to death

BBC News - Jerusalem rabbis 'condemn dog to death by stoning'
A Jewish rabbinical court condemned to death by stoning a stray dog it feared was the reincarnation of a lawyer who insulted its judges, reports say. The dog entered the Jerusalem financial court several weeks ago and would not leave, reports Israeli website Ynet. It reminded a judge of a curse passed on a now deceased secular lawyer about 20 years ago, when judges bid his spirit to enter the body of a dog. The animal is said to have escaped before the sentence was carried out. One of the judges at the court in the city's ultra-Orthodox Mea Shearim neighbourhood had reportedly asked local children to carry out the sentence.

Latest Sarah Palin Speech Opens Sixth Seal

Latest Sarah Palin Speech Opens Sixth Seal | The Onion - America's Finest News Source
IDAHO FALLS, ID—Speaking unto an audience of anti-immigration advocates, global-warming deniers, and members of the Tea Party Nation, former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin gave forth utterances Monday that reportedly opened the sixth seal of the Book of the Apocalypse. "Wow, it's good to be here, just shootin' the breeze with a bunch of real, hardworking Americans who love their freedom," said Palin, her words echoing across the Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium as mighty tremors caused great unrest beneath the land and the sea. "So are the little guys like you and me gonna fight these Washington insiders with their big government agenda? You betcha we are!" And lo, there was then a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair; and the moon became as blood; and "gosh" was spoken repeatedly; and the stars of heaven fell upon the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken by a mighty wind.
