Yeah, in the past year, I think I've dated one or two of them. There is usually an issue there with religion, which is kind of frustrating, because you're not necessarily going to go out on one or two dates with someone and think that you're going to marry them. But, with long term goals, how you're going to raise your kids, whether you're going to bring them to church or not, you wonder if that person is going to show the same values -- there tends to be a difference there with liberal guys.

Another turn-off with liberal guys, at least for me, tends to be 2nd Amendment stuff. Gun rights? I think it's kind of wimpy when guys don't think people should be able to protect themselves.

But, here I am, romantically involved with a woman in SL. It’s something that I’ve struggled with, not because I am bothered by it, or feel shame because of it. No, I’m proud to know her and feel extraordinarily lucky to be with her, and if we didn’t have RL privacy issues I’d be shouting her name from the virtual rooftops. Rather, I struggle because I’m amazingly so okay with the whole thing, and being the over-thinking rationalist that I am, I can’t explain it.

I highly doubt that I’m the first one to coin the term “rezbian,” but I use it to apply to people like me who don’t fit into any of these categories: though we are straight in RL, we find ourselves attracted to another woman (or women) in SL, and not by choice. I don’t use the term to make light of anyone’s sexuality, I just think it fits (and, okay, it's a nice little play on words).

I think that, based on that definition a rezbian is different than the group I described two paragraphs above, who are straight women who have been wanting to explore their sexualities and choose to do so in SL. I have never felt the need to explore a lesbian side of myself; honestly I don’t think my RL self has one. In fact, you can ask my friends - I was a virtual nun early on in my Second Life, swearing off SL relationships completely because I didn’t see the appeal. It wasn’t until I became very close friends with a certain woman, that exploring past friendship with her was even interesting to me. And once that attraction happened, there was no choice involved at all - I was just overwhelmingly smitten with her.

The memo gives advice for fooling the system to get otherwise unqualified borrowers approved for mortgages:

1. Lump all of an applicant's compensation as the applicant's base income, rather than breaking out commissions, bonuses and tips.

3. If all else fails, simply inflate the applicant's income. "Inch it up $500 to see if you can get the findings you want. Do the same for assets.
