The puzzling crash of Air France’s Flight 447 killed two of the world’s “most prominent” illegal arms trade and international drug trafficking foes, according to a little-noticed report. In a revelation sure to fuel conspiracy theories over the plane’s demise, the report reveals that two key figures in the neverending internecine battle against global arms and drug trafficking perished when the plane abruptly fell out of the sky. Both were particularly active in efforts to stem illegal arms trading in Latin America. A 39-year Argentinian man, Pablo Dreyfus, was said to be a major player in an effort by Brazilian authorities to stop flow of arms to drug gangs in Rio. ... Another consultant for Small Arms Survey also died in the crash, “Ronald Dreyer, a Swiss diplomat and co-ordinator of the Geneva Declaration on Armed Violence ..." according to Scotland’s Sunday Herald. “Both men were consultants at the Small Arms Survey, an independent think tank based at Geneva’s Graduate Institute of International Studies,” the Herald reported.

Here are some of the things I learned:

* Obama and his administration are pawns of the international banking conspiracy, and it’s all led by former Jimmy Carter National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski and the many “secret societies” from the Trilateral Commission to the Bohemian Grove.

* The reason Ron Paul supporters also have UFO conspiracy DVDs at their booth is because if the government let us know about and learn alien technology, it could go a long way toward solving our country’s energy problems.

* No plane actually struck the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001; the damage was the result of planted explosives. This was vouchsafed to me by an extremely energetic and dedicated young man who was giving his DVDs away for free. He had a very elaborate set of xeroxed photographs with the “real” flight path of the airliner, a professionally-produced series of animated graphics which showed the difference between the fake flight path and the real one, and so on.

* If you experience sudden headaches or body heating as you walk down the street, this is called “electronic harassment” and is the work of the NSA, which can read your driver’s license from space.

Starbucks launched the campaign a week ago, when they had advertising posters set up in six major US cities and had people hunt them down and take photos of themselves in front of them. The challenge was to be the first to post a photo on twitter using predetermined hashtags. Robert Greenwald heard about the campaign the same day he put up on YouTube a mini-documentary featuring interviews with Starbucks employees criticizing the company for its unfair labor practices and the fact that it had made it difficult for them to organize themselves in a union. On a blog post over at Brave New Films, the company Greenwald founded, he encouraged people to take photos of themselves in front of Starbucks stores with signs criticizing the company's practices. Then they were to post those photos on twitter using the same hashtags Starbucks had created for its campaign #top3percent and #starbucks. Many responded to the calling and soon dozens of photos started to pop up on Twitter. The initiative seems to have been a success as the YouTube video has almost 50,000 views at this point. Greenwald also plans to continue his campaign though he would not reveal his plans. This really speaks about the power of social media and the troubles large companies have had trying to harness it. “Well it says that democracy is a wonderful thing, and that we should be very happy with it,” Greenwald said. ”I think that the corporations will learn very quickly that if they want to function in a social marketing arena, then they’re going to have to change some of their practices or else they’ll have to get out.”
