Oakland: CHP investigates weekend sideshow on busy I-880 - Inside Bay Area
OAKLAND -- The northbound lanes of Interstate 880 near the Oakland Coliseum were taken over briefly Saturday afternoon by drivers doing doughnuts and other sideshow stunts.
The brazen, daytime sideshow began at 4 p.m. and ended minutes later, before officers could arrive at the scene, CHP spokeswoman Diana McDermott said during a Monday news conference.
No one was injured during the activity, which was videotaped by spectators and posted on YouTube.
One video shows several cars spinning in circles in the middle of the freeway, while spectators sat on top of their cars recording the action.
