Rumors already swirling regarding Obama's cabinet picks
The new president-elect could immediately name his White House chief of staff, and speculation has centered on Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel, a hard-nosed political tactician from former President Bill Clinton's White House, who is close to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and could help Obama maneuver his agenda through Congress.
Obama is also expected to quickly name a Treasury secretary to soothe the roiling financial markets. Clinton's former Treasury secretary, Lawrence Summers, and Tim Geithner, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, are seen as possible contenders.
