Last year I read Neil Strauss' "The Game," which is an in-depth examination and journey into the world of the modern pick-up artist. It was astounding, thorough and utterly depressing. All of the mystique and romance of dating gets crushed, tossed into a crucible, and burned until only hard science remains.
These are guys that have turned their quest for sex into cold math and psychological techniques. It's very impressive, and seems to be very effective for people seeking one night stands or two-week relationships, but in the book at least it seems like it only leads to loneliness.
In any case, since these men are nerds and are developing a system, they have incredibly rich slang. Check it out.
