It's official: MUNI sucks
SAN FRANCISCO / Muni service on slow track / Quarterly report shows on-time goal remains elusive
The Muni's latest service report, covering May, June and July, shows that 70.7 percent of the transit agency's vehicles arrived at their stops on time. Even worse, only 66.4 percent of Muni drivers met the standard of keeping wait times for riders at stops to less than 10 minutes.
The report also reveals that 11.5 percent of drivers recorded an unscheduled absence, such as calling in sick.
The Muni has struggled for years to meet the service standards outlined by voter-approved Proposition E in 1999. Those standards include an on-time goal of 85 percent.
