Cute cute cute!

so i don't really know what the internet protocol is for this, but i can't stop thinking about how adorable and supportive and wonderful this is. the other night i was looking for something on flickr and came across the page of a woman who is pretty much the coolest mom ever. it was actually kinda of inspiring to think about how creative she is in her life and how creative she is with her son. art night involved a kid more covered in paint than the paper and there's a video of her son acting like a gorilla dancing around to his favorite band, the gorillaz.
but my favorite thing is that she made a t-shirt for her son about his imaginary friend:

The Ones We Love

The Ones We Love is "a project highlighting young and talented photographers from around the world. Each artist contributed six photographs of the person(s) who is most important to them, taken outdoors in a natural setting. The goal of the website is to portray the people who are loved, cherished, and inspirational to these artists, and also showcase the differences and similarities in the photographs each of them took within the same guidelines."

They are very touching in different ways. One of my favorites is below:

Chelsea Ivan,
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
b. 1987

"Colin helps me feel wonderful, talented and beautiful. I like to hang out or make out with him. He's kind of the best."

Cute and interesting!

Bzzzpeek.com is presenting a collection of 'onomatopoeia' from around the world using sound recordings from native speakers imitating the sounds of mainly animals and vehicles. This project focuses on the pronunciation and comparison of these sounds by presenting them side by side as each language expresses them differently. Bzzzpeek.com is an interactive experience inviting everybody to contribute. Submissions are more than welcome!

Etsy for Valentine's Day Gifts!

Just my weekly reminder that Etsy is wonderful.

Valentine's Day is coming up (although everyday is a good day to give sweet gifts to your sweetie); there are some great and unique options there that will surely be appreciated more than the tired box of walgreen's chocolate and roses with the stems pinned on.

These are two of my favorites:

Scratch and Sniff Year of the Pig Stamps

Stamps released in China to celebrate the Year of the Pig taste of sweet and sour pork. The stamps on sale in China to celebrate the country's New Year. The stamps taste of sweet and sour pork. When you scratch the front of the stamps, it smells of the popular chinese dish and when the back of the stamp is licked it tastes of the dish too. The stamps are on sale in China ahead of their New Year on February 18, reports Metro. Royal Mail launched Britain's first scratch 'n' sniff stamp in 2001 - they gave off eucalyptus aromas.

I don't think I'd pick pork for my first choice of scratch 'n' sniff stamps, but it's still a pretty cute idea.

A really cute cop

sootoday.com | Natalie Deschene gets stopped by a really cute cop

UnitedWayAllNightCS.JPG
Constable Sonny Spina of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service stopped Natalie Deschene at around 11:30 p.m. last night. Natalie wasn't in any trouble with law, though. In fact the teenager thanked the friendly constable for checking her jacket as she and several hundred other teenagers were entering the United Way's 5th Annual Starlight Film Fest late last night at the Galaxy Cinema.
