I thought of a dozen things I could say to him; the stranger I watched cram his empty coffee cup in between the window and the seat of the bus.

"You know, there is a trash at the front of the bus."

"Even my eight year old knows better than to do that."

Or, as he was getting off, "Excuse me, don't forget your garbage."

Alas, he looked scary and I'm a coward.
